Ingredients

  • 1 frozen burrito 5 to 8 ounces, wrapper removed
  • 1 spray neutral cooking oil optional for a crisper tortilla
  • 2 tablespoons salsa or sauce for serving, optional

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Tongs
  • Instant-read thermometer if checking a meat-filled burrito

Method

  1. Remove all plastic or paper and note any manufacturer directions, especially for raw-meat products.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
  3. Mist the tortilla very lightly with oil if desired. Place the burrito seam-side up in the basket.
  4. Air fry 8 minutes, turn seam-side down, then cook 5 to 8 minutes more.
  5. Insert a thermometer through one end when safety or a meat filling requires certainty. Otherwise cut carefully and confirm the center is steaming hot.
  6. Rest 2 minutes before biting; the filling can be much hotter than the tortilla.

Notes

  • Read relevant ingredient labels and the manual for any appliance used.
  • Begin checking at the early end of the time range.
  • USDA recommends reheating leftovers safely and refrigerating perishable food promptly; the burrito package remains the authority for product-specific directions.
