Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds skinless salmon fillet cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice plus wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Instant-read thermometer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Silicone-tipped tongs

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes. Pat the salmon dry and cut it into even 1-inch cubes.
  2. Whisk oil, soy sauce, honey, paprika, garlic powder and pepper in a bowl. Add salmon and fold gently until coated.
  3. Place the cubes in one layer with a little space between them. Keep the flattest cut side against the basket when possible.
  4. Cook at 390°F for 6 minutes. Turn the larger pieces and cook 1 to 3 minutes more.
  5. Insert a thermometer through the side of a thick cube. Remove when the center reaches 145°F, or the preferred safe doneness under applicable guidance.
  6. Rest 2 minutes, add lemon juice and serve immediately.
